I know you must all be waiting with bated breath to hear how I got on in the first week of my challenge, well here we go.

That good eh?
For those of you for whom my antics have not been top of your priorities, let me remind you of the challenge:
To run 3 times a week for a month
I am attempting to get my motivation back, I have had a lengthy layoff from running and can't seem to get back to it.
However... I feel I have had rather a successful week.
Week One
9th November, running shoes tied up, out the door, just under 2 miles. Not earth-shattering but I got out the door.
10th November, 1 mile warm-up on treadmill, 40 mins weights, 2 mile cool-down on treadmill (come on, it was pouring down with rain!!)
12th November 3.5 miles, slow but moving.
14th November 3 miles but .30 seconds a minute faster (every little counts)
16th November - now we are talking - 4 miles along the skating rink beside the Kennet & Avon Canal, through some much-appreciated sunshine, towards Sticks and Stones at Woodborough for coffee, a vegan sausage roll and a slice of vegan lemon drizzle cake by Hetty's Vegan Baking.
Suitably refreshed, but perhaps a little over-refreshed, I chose to run back on the road, which was only 3 miles, at which point the weather thought it would be a wonderful idea to change into continuous rain for the majority of the route.
Never mind, I'd covered 7 miles and that meant the cake and sausage roll were calorie-free - (go with me on this one, it makes me feel better).
So all in all a good week.
What Does Week Two Have In Store?
Tonight is RunTogether Plodders night. I am going to give them a little fartlek session going up and down Broomcroft Road (a gently undulating hilly road..ish) they will love it hahahahahaha
I always say to them that it is much harder watching and holding a stopwatch than it is to actually take part - I'm not sure they actually believe me though!
If any of you are local to us and fancy joining us, please log on using the link above - we look forward to meeting you.
That just leaves two more runs to get in before the middle of the following week...stay tuned to see if I can make it!
